“X” – A to Z blogging challenge – Day 24

“Xanadu” from 1977’s Hemispheres

Inspired by Samual Taylor Coleridge’s “Kubla Khan,” this song is the band at a level of eerie musical composition and feel similar to some old Moody Blues or Yes.  Really exceptional playing here.

I won’t quote any lyrics for this one though.  Read the poem; it’s available on the internet.  The song is written in the first-person, and presents an aspect of the journey to Kubla Khan’s great and beautiful pleasure dome and it’s honeydew and milk of paradise.

Is it possible to have too much of a good thing?

Listen to this song for the answer, and enjoy the incredible music even more.
