J.J. Abrams Responds to “Rip-Off” Criticism About ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

Look, I’ve had my say about Abrams and The Force Awakens, both in my predictions where I touched on the cyclical/repetitive aspect of Star Wars storytelling, and where I predicted/discussed what and why J.J. Abrams might catch some flack for in this film in another post. Finally, I think my review after seeing the film captured the spirit of some of the problems some people might have had with the movie, without all the vitriol.

Let it go, people. Was it a perfect movie? Of course not. Even J.J. said that he wasn’t going to be able to please everybody with everything in this movie. It is, however, a good-bordering-on-great film, and light-years ahead of what we’ve had recently.

Is it Empire? Hell, no. No way you beat that film.

But please, people, grow up.

  1. Agreed. This was lightyears better than my expectations. No one is perfect you can’t expect that. And the cyclical way of storytelling in Star Wars IS Star Wars. If you don’t like it why are you watching Star Wars?
