Wizard Con Las Vegas, Day 2

End of day two, here at Wizard Con Las Vegas. It’s been an interesting time. If you listened to the notes I posted this morning, then you know what’s been going on. If not, go listen to it, then read on.

Today was great. Photo ops with Elizabeth Henstridge (Agents of SHIELD) and Jewel Staite (Firefly). Autographs from both, as well. Elizabeth is freaking adorable, by the way. A tiny little wisp of a woman, with her English accent and authentic excitement about, well, everything, apparently.

Went to three main stage panels in the afternoon: Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD with Elizabeth Henstridge and Brett Dalton (video to come),

Jewel Staite’s panel (ditto on the video),

and then “Michael Rooker versus the Audience”, which was HILARIOUS. No moderator, no cutesy little Q&A, just Rooker and a microphone running around the audience letting people ask questions and answering to their faces. He absolutely controlled the crowd the entire time, and seemed to have a blast doing it.

Saw some nice cosplay

A couple of Harley quinns,

the Ghostbusters,

a six-foot dwarf,

Wonder Woman and Supergirl,

Daenerys Targaryen,

Captain America,

NCIS’ own Abby Sciuto,

Riddick and Mad Max(ine),

and I have generally had a good time.

I must say that my initial concern about the size of the event (in area) has been offset by the fact that Las Vegas simply doesn’t have the attendance necessary to utilize more of the available convention center space. I do wish that the Salt Palace had this much space. We would have ZERO issues with our attendance, that’s for sure.

Organizationally, these folks seemed to have everything in hand. I didn’t see or hear of any problems, so that’s nice.

Last day tomorrow, then home on Monday.

Then I get to do it all again next weekend for FanX.

Good times!
