I can’t tell you how much fun it was to read, because some of it seems really familiar:
“Director Seth Grahame-Smith has left The Flash. The official explanation: “creative differences.” ”
I believe in my predictions for DC, I said,
“Obviously, a lot can change over a year or two in Hollywood, so with an actor change here, a script re-write there, a director departure due to “creative differences” over there… “
BMD also reports
“WB execs have found themselves at odds with Snyder over his vision for Justice League and the DC movieverse going forward.”
Where have I read something like that before…? Oh, yeah: right HERE:
“What I can divine from all of that is the studio has effectively admitted that the dark and brooding Zach Snyderverse is a bust. Box office be damned, DC has admitted that they are going in totally the wrong direction, or have, at least, put the rudder of their cinematic ship in the hands of people (or a person) not equipped to steer the thing properly.”
I don’t want to brag, but, seriously, it wasn’t that hard to see this kind of stuff coming. If you understand human behavior and Hollywood’s desire to make money, as well as maintain their reputations, then it all makes perfect sense.
DC is in the wrong hands. Whether you consider those hands to be Zach Snyder’s or WB’s is up to you, but clearly, this train is, in fact, headed off the rails, and the only thing that can save it is a Suicide mission.
I’ll say it right now: if Suicide Squad bombs, or get a critical reception close to BvS, then Snyder’s days are over in the DC universe. But, as I said HERE, I don’t think DC/WB will allow that to happen. They can’t.
I feel vindicated.
Have a great day!
