Dan Farr and Bryan Brandenburg held a press event at the Utah State Capital rotundo this morning to announce their first slate of guest for this September’s 4th annual Salt Lake Comic Con event.
While I couldn’t personally attend (I’m recovering from ear surgery), I have gleaned the following from across the social media universe and wanted to share it with you:
William Shatner, the one and only Captain Kirk of Star Trek.
Tom Wopat, John Schneider, and Catherine Bach of The Dukes of Hazzard.
Jason David Frank, of Power Rangers fame.
Lou Ferrigno, of The Incredible Hulk fame.
Jim Beaver, notably of Supernatural.
Jeremy Bullock, Boba Fett from the original Star Wars trilogy.
Vic Mignogna of Star Trek Continues.
Michael Rooker of The Walking Dead and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Ming Chen, Bryan Flanagan, and Mike Sapcic of Comic Book Men. Maybe they can drag Kevin Smith along with them.
Not a bad first go, although we’d already known about Shatner because he can’t keep his mouth shut.
Apparently, Bryan said they are negotiating for a Harry Potter attendee and/or another Avengers star.
They will continue the practice of loading UTA passes to the wristbands, as well as photo-ops in an attempt to reduce congestion.
All in all, it sounds like they are planning some serious guest power in addition to this additional list. Although, out of this list, I think I’m most excited about Michael Rooker. Having seen him do his panel at Wizard Con in Vegas this February, I’m really pissed I didn’t fight the crowd and meet him or get a photo-op. Definitely on my list for this event.
If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, be aware that the 30% discount is over. Now it’s 15%, which will drop to 0% at some point, so don’t wait. Remember, he who hesitates, pays full price.
