Career Goals.

Why anyone would want to get into politics is beyond me.

Seriously.

Who would want every word they uttered to be subjected to a never-ending stream of analysis and parsing, of interpretation and insinuation?

Who, I ask you?

The smallest imprecise turn of phrase, an incorrect word or poorly articulated thought, replayed endlessly, again and again, until everyone knows, even those that agree with the idea you were trying to get across in the first place.

Who?

I’d rather be a writer, so that every word I type can be subjected to a never-ending stream of analysis and parsing, of interpretation and insinuation.

Oh, the joys of having even the smallest, imprecise turn of phrase, every incorrect word or poorly articulated thought, rehashed endlessly, again and again, until everyone knows, even those that agree with the idea I was trying to get across in the first place.

That’s a career goal.
