I was struck this morning, as the dawn broke on a day in which summer was, finally, to give way to fall, or even to winter, of the wonder that is our world.
So much beauty, so much wisdom, surrounds us: the cut of the clouds, the smell of the air, the sparkle of the sunlight through the trees…
Oh, the knowledge we might have if we only possessed the eyes to see and the hearts to hear it.
Instead, we live like caterpillars, insulated in the cocoons of our knowledge, always on the verge of evolving, yet forever separated from the world around us.
Oh, humanity! How far you’ve come, how far you’ve yet to go.
